More than 200 delegates from over 50 countries are coming to Montréal this October to shape how artificial intelligence is developed, governed, and trusted around the world. They are members of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42, the international technical committee responsible for global AI standards. From October 26 to 30, the plenary will set the direction for the next generation of AI governance frameworks.
SCC facilitates Canada's participation in international AI standardization as Canada's national standards body. Through SC 42, Canada contributes to global frameworks that inform AI policy, regulation, and procurement across sectors and jurisdictions.
Hosting the plenary gives Canada a direct platform to help shape the direction of international AI standards and to connect Canadian stakeholders with the global experts writing them.
